Performance Audit Wing (PAW), Lahore conducted 3-days online ECOSAI Course on “Financial Analysis in Performance Auditing” from 23-25 April, 2024.

80 participants from seven (07) SAIs including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Palestine, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus , Turkiye and Pakistan attended the said course. 

Director General (PAW) SAI Pakistan welcomed the participants in his inaugural speech with the hope that this course will provide a deep insight how to analyze financial data while executing performance audit.

Mr. Shahzad Aziz Khan, Director General Audit (Local Govt.), Punjab (South), Multan was invited to deliver the lecture. The objectives of Financial Analysis were to assess financial performance, evaluate the financial position, identify trends and patterns, measure liquidity and solvency and make informed decisions based on the analysis of financial statements.

The main areas covered in this short course were Introduction to Financial Analysis, MS Excel Tools and Techniques for Financial Analysis, Time value of Money, Compounding, Discounting, BCR and Discounted BCR, NPV & IRR and their application, Sensitivity Analysis / Sensitivity Testing, Financial Statements, Vertical & Horizontal Analysis of Financial Statements, Financial Statement’s Industry Trend Analysis, Liquidity Analysis, Efficiency Analysis, Leverage Analysis and Profitability Analysis.

This training course was well designed and it enabled the participants on how to apply the acquired concepts and techniques efficiently and effectively in the discharge of professional duties for achieving desired results for the satisfaction of stakeholders
