Auditor General of China visiting SAI Uzbekistan

From April 9 to 13, a delegation led by the Auditor General of the National Audit Office of the People's Republic of China (CNAO), H.E. Mr. Hou Kai, visited the Chamber of Accounts (COA) of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen mutual relations between the SAIs of both countries and exchange experience in the field of external audit.

An official meeting of the SAIs was held at the COA office. The acting chairman of the COA Mr. Mekhriddin Abdullaev provided information about the large-scale transformation processes currently underway at the Accounts Chamber.

The both Parties shared their professional presentations focusing on improving audit methodologies, modern audit technologies and IT systems.

The Auditor General of China Mr. Hou Kai got acquainted with the activities of the Remote control centre of the COA.

A Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the SAIs. It provides for agreements on exchange of experience in the field of external audit methodologies, digitalization of audit processes and AI as well as on capacity building.

It was agreed to exchange experience between the auditors of both SAIs. The staff of the COA will have more opportunities to have annual training at the Nanjing Audit University. It was also agreed to organize regular professional consultations between the concerned auditors and departments in such areas as risk analysis, IT development and digitalization.

Mr. Hou Kai also had bilateral meetings with the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Ms. T. Narbayeva and the Speaker of the Legislative Chamber Mr. N. Ismailov. The main focus was on the prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The delegation also visited the city of Samarkand, ancient capital of Uzbekistan, called the “pearl of the Central Asia” and that was located at the crossroads of the Great Silk Road.

As a whole, the visit of the CNAO delegation led by Mr. Hou Kai was comprehensive and productive. It opened a new page in the bilateral relations between the SAIs.
